We have distinctive, well appointed holiday hire boats available from our base near the historic market town of Oundle, Northamptonshire. Slow down and enjoy a break in idyllic countryside only an hour from London or Birmingham.

From Oundle you can explore the full length of the navigable Nene as it winds its way gently past a series of villages with spired churches and old watermills through the beautiful counties of Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire to the fenland rivers and canals beyond.  If you have never been on a canal boat holiday before but would like to try it out, why not come and have a look first? Just give us a call and we can arrange a time for you to visit. You can have a look round a boat and we will try to answer any questions you have.

Nene Valley Boats is run by Dan Jones and Carol MacIntyre and is based on an arable farm in Northamptonshire. We both gained our first experience of  canal boats and boating through hireboat holidays and believe they are the ideal way to experience the inland waterways. It doesn't matter if you have never been on a narrow boat before or have only ever been on the canals - we will give you the tuition you need to start your holiday with confidence. The Nene is a beautiful river, which is much under used at present, we hope you will come and enjoy a holiday with us soon.
